We were back at Selby parkrun this week for something a bit different, and it turned into one of those mornings that sticks with you. Iris had been round Selby before, but only as a tiny passenger being carried along. This time she did the whole course properly, strapped into her first ever buggy run. Same loop, same course we know well, but a completely new way of getting round it as a family.
What really stood out was watching Naomi find her rhythm with the buggy. She settled in from the off and just kept building through the laps, until by that final mile she was pushing along at 6.30 pace like it was second nature. That’s not easy to do with a buggy in front of you, and it shows how much progress she’s made.
Iris, for her part, was clearly loving every second of it. The motion, the breeze, taking it all in from her seat while the rest of us worked hard around her. It’s a small thing on paper, just a parkrun with a buggy, but it felt like a proper step forward for our little crew and made a familiar course feel different all over again.
If you’re into family running, parkrun stories, or just like seeing how the numbers stack up lap by lap, this one’s for you. Have a watch of the full video and see Naomi’s pace build for yourself. More runs and more stories from us soon.
